I'm Luisa Popovic, a multimedia artist originally from the Bay Area and now living in Brooklyn in a studio covered wall-to-wall with my own work. The term "multimedia artist" conjures various definitions for different people, but here's how I see it: I create with my hands — whether that means cutting, styling and coloring hair; fashioning handmade wigs (using anything from human hair to headphones); painting and drawing, or embroidering, my medium for expression takes on distinct forms. I studied to be a hair technician at Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles, London and New York, where I honed skills for precision cutting and creative styling. Since then, I've worked on photo shoots for publications like WWD, ComplexCon, Vulkan Magazine, and Schön Magazine and have also worked backstage during New York Fashion Week for designers including Eckhaus Latta, individually as a part of teams where I executed creative beauty concepts for the models. I have experience working with talent as well, having taken part in conceptualizing with the beauty for Kehlani's "Sweet, Sexy, Savage" album cover, among others.
